Upcoming Mahindra XUV300 Facelift to Debut New Automatic Gearbox and Panoramic Sunroof

:

Mahindra is set to introduce a mid-life update for the XUV300, and it’s poised to bring exciting changes to the popular compact SUV. Alongside enhanced exterior styling and a more modern touchscreen infotainment system, one standout addition is expected to significantly elevate its premium appeal – a segment-first panoramic sunroof. But that’s not all; the XUV300 facelift will also welcome a brand-new automatic transmission.

Enhancing the XUV300 Experience: What to Expect

The impending XUV300 facelift promises a more enticing driving experience with the inclusion of an Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic transmission, potentially replacing the existing 6-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). This transition aims to offer a smoother and more refined drive, eliminating the typical AMT characteristics.

While Mahindra is gearing up to enhance the automatic gearbox experience, the engine lineup for the XUV300 is expected to remain consistent. It will continue to offer three powertrain options: a 110hp 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, a 131hp 1.2-litre direct injection turbo-petrol, and a 117hp 1.5-litre diesel engine. However, official confirmation is awaited regarding whether the new automatic transmission will be integrated across all engine variants or selectively.

Aisin: The Trusted Transmission Supplier

Aisin has been a reliable supplier of automatic transmissions for Mahindra, with a notable presence in models like the XUV500, XUV700, and Scorpio N. This collaboration is set to extend with the introduction of the XUV300 facelift. Aisin’s 6-speed automatic transmissions have demonstrated their capabilities across various vehicles, including the Maruti Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, XL6, and Grand Vitara. Other automakers, such as Skoda, Volkswagen, and MG, have also benefited from Aisin’s 6-speeder, underscoring its widespread industry adoption.

Anticipated XUV300 Facelift Launch

Enthusiasts and potential buyers can look forward to the XUV300 facelift’s launch in the first half of 2024. It’s poised to rival other compact SUVs in the market, including the updated Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon facelift, Hyundai Venue, and Maruti Brezza. The introduction of the panoramic sunroof and the upgraded automatic gearbox is expected to fortify the XUV300’s position in the competitive compact SUV segment.
