TVS Launches TVS X Electric Scooter with Impressive Features: Price, Specs, and More

TVS, a prominent player in the Indian automotive industry, has recently introduced its latest offering in the electric scooter segment – the TVS X. This new electric scooter, inspired by the Creon concept showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, brings a host of innovative features to the table. With its unique design elements and advanced technology, the TVS X is poised to make a significant impact in the electric mobility space.

The TVS X electric scooter makes a bold statement with its maxi-style design, showcasing a fusion of sleek aesthetics and modern engineering. It stands out with distinctive features, including split seats, a rear tyre hugger, and 12-inch blacked-out alloy wheels. The vehicle’s structure is supported by a high-tensile aluminum chassis, ensuring both durability and lightweight maneuverability.

One of the standout features of the TVS X is its expansive 10.25-inch fully digital TFT instrument console, which provides riders with a comprehensive range of information and features. This console serves as the hub for various functionalities, offering customizable options and even in-built navigation called NavPro. The console’s versatility extends to wellness features, gaming options, live video streaming, and cruise control, enhancing the overall riding experience.

At the heart of the TVS X is a powerful 4.44kWh battery pack that fuels an electric motor capable of producing a peak output of 15PS and 40Nm of torque. This configuration empowers the scooter with impressive performance metrics, enabling it to reach a top speed of 105kmph and accelerate from 0 to 40kmph in a mere 2.6 seconds. The scooter’s motor is equipped with a RAM air intake, a feature designed to enhance cooling efficiency during operation.

Charging convenience is a crucial aspect of electric mobility, and TVS has taken steps to address this concern. The TVS X can be charged from 0 to 50 percent within an hour using a 3kWh charger. Alternatively, utilizing a standard 950W charger, the scooter can achieve 0-80 percent charge in approximately three hours and 40 minutes.

While the TVS X electric scooter packs impressive performance and charging capabilities, it also focuses on safety and rider assistance. The scooter boasts disc brakes on both wheels, with the front wheel featuring an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), marking a noteworthy milestone as the first electric scooter in India to offer this safety feature.

However, it’s important to note that innovation and advanced features come with a premium price tag. TVS has announced an introductory price of Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) for the TVS X electric scooter. This price point places the scooter in the upper echelons of the electric scooter market. However, it’s worth mentioning that this pricing means the scooter doesn’t qualify for the government’s FAME-II subsidy.

Prospective buyers eager to be part of the electric revolution can pre-book the TVS X electric scooter by making an initial payment of Rs 16,275 through the official TVS website. The first 2,000 units of the TVS X will bear a “First Edition” insignia, adding an exclusive touch to early adopters.

In conclusion, the TVS X electric scooter introduces a blend of futuristic design, cutting-edge technology, and high-performance capabilities to the Indian electric vehicle market. While its premium pricing might be a consideration for potential buyers, the innovative features, performance metrics, and safety enhancements make the TVS X a compelling proposition for those seeking a premium electric mobility experience.
