Toyota Innova Hycross: High Demand Continues, Waiting Period Extended

The Toyota Innova Hycross, launched in December 2022, has become a sensation in the Indian market, creating a surge in demand that has led to extended waiting periods, particularly for the hybrid variant. The popularity of this Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) has prompted Toyota to make strategic decisions to manage the overwhelming response.

Key Highlights:

  1. Extended Waiting Periods: As of now, customers looking to purchase the petrol variant of the Innova Hycross face a waiting period of six to seven months. The hybrid variant, in contrast, demands patience with a waiting period stretching up to an astounding 15 months from the booking date.
  2. Booking Halt for Top Variants: Toyota has implemented a temporary halt on bookings for the top-spec ZX and ZX(O) petrol-hybrid variants. This measure was introduced on April 8, 2023, owing to ongoing supply challenges. However, the brand continues to accept bookings for other variants, ensuring a continuous flow of deliveries.
  3. Powertrain Diversity: The Innova Hycross offers two robust powertrain options – a 2.0-liter gasoline engine and a 2.0-liter strong-hybrid engine. The latter, equipped with an E-CVT unit, outshines the former in both power and torque.
  4. Sales Trends: While the Hycross petrol, available in G and GX trims, experiences slower sales compared to the hybrid variant, it maintains a steady demand. Toyota sold an average of 565 units per month between January and June 2023, contributing to an overall noteworthy performance.
  5. Price and Fuel Efficiency: The price range for the Innova Hycross varies from ₹18.82 lakh to ₹27.32 lakh. The hybrid variants (VX and VX(O)) boast a commendable fuel efficiency of 23.24kpl, while the petrol variant maintains a respectable 16.13kpl.

As the Toyota Innova Hycross continues to dominate the MPV segment, customers eagerly anticipate a smoother booking experience and reduced waiting periods in the near future.
