Toyota Initiates Recall of Glanza Hatchback Over Fuel Pump Motor Issue

Voluntary Recall Campaign Affects 2,305 Units Manufactured Between April and October 2019

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has initiated a voluntary recall campaign for 2,305 units of the Glanza hatchback, citing a potential issue with the fuel pump motor. The affected vehicles, manufactured between April 2 and October 6, 2019, may experience engine stalling due to this issue. Toyota has assured customers that the necessary rectification procedures will be carried out free of cost, with the company contacting affected owners directly.

The Glanza, available in four variants (E, S, G, and V) with manual and automatic gearbox options, has become a popular choice in the hatchback segment, with prices starting from Rs. 6.86 lakh (ex-showroom). Equipped with a 1.2-litre petrol engine generating 89bhp and 113Nm of torque, the Glanza offers both manual and automatic transmission options, along with a CNG variant.

In addition to the recall, Toyota is gearing up to unveil the Taisor SUV on April 3, 2024. Based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, the Taisor promises distinctive features including a redesigned front grille, updated alloy wheels, revised bumpers, and a refreshed interior theme.
