Tesla’s Cybertruck Gears Up for Production as Confirmation Units Emerge

The highly anticipated Tesla Cybertruck is inching closer to production reality, as confirmed by a recent drone video from Joe Tegtmeyer, a Texas Gigafactory enthusiast and drone operator. Since its unveiling in November 2019, the Cybertruck has been a topic of intrigue and speculation. Now, it seems the wait is finally coming to an end.

In the half-hour-long video, filmed recently, it is revealed that Tesla has manufactured at least two “Series 8” Cybertrucks, which Tegtmeyer referred to as “Master Candidates.” According to the video, these vehicles were scheduled for review by Tesla’s top executives to receive their final stamp of approval. This crucial step paves the way for customer-intent assembly, set to commence later this year.

These newly minted electric pickups mark the first Cybertrucks to roll out of the Texas Gigafactory following upgrades and enhancements to the assembly line. Notably, Greggertruck, a respected Tesla insider, commented on these units, highlighting their superior build quality compared to their predecessors. The enhancements include a flush frunk, the absence of marks on the tonneau cover, and improved interior plastics.

Moreover, the Cybertrucks now feature recovery hooks and safety notice labels affixed to the sun visors. The steering wheel has also undergone an update, resembling a blend of the controversial yoke and the traditional round wheel.

As Joe Tegtmeyer suggests in the video, upcoming “Series 8” Cybertrucks could be destined for Tesla stores, where prospective customers will have the opportunity to view and test these vehicles. Subsequently, “Series 9” Cybertrucks will represent the final version available for purchase and delivery to reservation holders who proceed with their orders.

In related news, Elon Musk recently hinted at a Performance version of the all-electric pickup, describing it as “kicks ass next-level” in a comment on X. While specific details remain undisclosed, Musk had previously mentioned that initial Cybertruck units would feature a quad-motor layout.

The impending production of the Tesla Cybertruck is eagerly awaited by enthusiasts, and the recent sighting of manufacturing confirmation units has further fueled excitement.
