Tata Nexon’s Miraculous Escape: A Heart-Stopping Near Miss on the Highway

Driving in India’s bustling traffic is often a test of skill, awareness, and sometimes, sheer luck. A recent incident captured on dashcam footage serves as a stark reminder of the importance of these factors when navigating the country’s roads. In this heart-pounding video, a quick-thinking driver of a Tata Nexon narrowly averts a potentially catastrophic accident, saving an oblivious pedestrian from serious harm.

The Near-Miss at 108 Kmph

The dramatic incident unfolded on a national highway and was captured by Nikhil Rana on YouTube. The video, shared on their channel, showcases a hair-raising moment where a combination of luck, skill, and awareness prevented a devastating accident. In the video, the driver of a Tata Nexon sub-compact SUV was cruising at speeds exceeding 100 km/h on a four-lane highway.

As the dashcam footage unfolds, the highway can be seen with a moderate amount of traffic, including trucks and cars traveling at decent speeds. Further into the video, a pedestrian is observed attempting to cross the four-lane highway, carrying an object on top of their head, without so much as a glance to either side.

A Stroke of Luck and Remarkable Skill

What follows in the video is a heart-stopping moment where the driver of the Tata Nexon, through a remarkable combination of luck and skill, maneuvers the vehicle to the right, narrowly avoiding a collision with the unaware pedestrian. Not only does the driver prevent a direct hit, but they also manage to steer clear of the highway divider.

In a later part of the video, captured from the car’s rear, it becomes evident that the object the pedestrian was carrying on the road falls due to a slight contact, most likely from the car’s left mirror. Fortunately, this incident resulted in no severe injuries or harm to anyone involved.

What Could Have Gone Wrong

This incident was, without a doubt, a fortunate escape for all parties involved. Firstly, the pedestrian, who crossed the road carelessly, was spared from a potentially life-threatening collision. Had the driver attempted to brake at 108 km/h, a collision with the pedestrian would have been inevitable. Thankfully, the quick reflexes and evasive action of the driver prevented a more serious outcome.

Secondly, the car narrowly avoided colliding with the highway divider. The limited space between the car, the pedestrian, and the divider left little margin for error. Had the car struck the divider at such a high speed, it could have led to a catastrophic accident, endangering the lives of the driver and passengers. Fortunately, this worst-case scenario was averted, and everyone emerged unscathed.

A Powerful Reminder

This harrowing incident serves as a powerful reminder of the unpredictable nature of Indian roads and the critical role that skill, awareness, and yes, luck, play in ensuring road safety. It underscores the importance of responsible road behavior and the need for pedestrians and drivers alike to exercise caution and vigilance.
