Sneak Peek: What to Expect from the Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin

Royal Enfield Classic 650 Trademark Filed: Set to Be the Most Affordable 650 Twin

Royal Enfield continues to expand its lineup with exciting new models, the latest being the anticipated Classic 650 Twin. Following the successful launch of the Shotgun 650, Royal Enfield is now preparing to introduce this new addition to its 650 cc range, which promises to be the most affordable motorcycle in this segment.

The company has recently filed a trademark for the name “Classic 650 Twin,” signaling that its launch is imminent. The Classic 650 Twin is expected to carry forward the retro charm and robust performance that Royal Enfield is known for while making the 650 cc experience more accessible to a broader audience.

Design and Features

Spy shots and insider information suggest that the Classic 650 Twin will share design elements with the beloved Classic 350, though it will feature larger dimensions due to its base on the Shotgun 650’s platform. Despite the larger size, several modifications are anticipated to ensure the motorcycle remains affordable. These include the use of telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear, offering a balance of cost-efficiency and performance.

The motorcycle will feature the same LED headlamp unit seen on other newer Royal Enfield models. While the headlamp may not be the brightest in its class, it maintains the classic aesthetic with a small cowl and halogen pilot lamps. Standard halogen turn indicators with orange lenses further enhance its vintage appeal.

Mechanical Specifications

In terms of exhaust and engine aesthetics, the Classic 650 Twin will borrow elements from the Shotgun 650, but with a twist. The exhaust system is finished in chrome rather than black, aligning with the classic look. Similarly, the engine’s casing will also feature a chrome finish, replacing the black powder-coated variant found in other models.

The fenders appear to be borrowed from the Super Meteor 650, yet the rear number plate housing and tail lamp design are unique to the Classic 650 Twin. The motorcycle rides on spoked wheels with tube-type tires, which may pose a challenge when fixing punctures. However, alloy wheels are likely to be available in higher variants or as official accessories.

Market Launch and Expectations

The launch of the Classic 650 Twin is expected to occur in the coming months, adding to the excitement among Royal Enfield enthusiasts and potential buyers. As the brand continues to innovate while maintaining its classic appeal, the Classic 650 Twin is poised to attract a wide range of riders looking for a blend of affordability, style, and performance in the 650 cc segment.
