Sneak Peek: Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Rendered Ahead of Highly Anticipated Launch

Royal Enfield’s 650cc lineup has taken the motorcycle market by storm since its inception. Comprising models like the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, and Super Meteor 650, this platform has garnered immense popularity. Among the eagerly awaited additions to this celebrated lineup is the Shotgun 650, and the TripleLines YouTube channel has treated enthusiasts to a captivating render of this upcoming motorcycle.

The Shotgun 650 – A Royal Enfield Masterpiece in the Making: While the name Shotgun 650 is still speculative and draws inspiration from the SG 650 concept, which was a bold foray into the bobber-style motorcycle segment, the production version has been seen with a pillion seat during test runs. This blend of rugged aesthetics and practicality is a testament to Royal Enfield’s commitment to delivering versatile riding experiences.

Design and Features: Royal Enfield plans to base the Shotgun 650 on the same platform as the Super Meteor 650, although the mainframe will differ slightly from the Interceptor and Continental GT. This platform choice is reminiscent of the SG 650 concept, indicating the brand’s dedication to bringing its striking vision to life.

The recent spottings of test mules have revealed an extended wheelbase, likely surpassing that of the Super Meteor 650. The TripleLines render aligns with this observation, presenting a motorcycle with a commanding presence. Notable design elements include a robust headlight clamp, akin to the one featured on the Scram 411, a circular LED headlight, and classic round indicators and tail lights.

Adding a touch of character to the Shotgun 650’s design, TripleLine’s render incorporates a bubble effect on the compact windscreen. The motorcycle will sport a USD telescopic front suspension setup and a twin shock absorber arrangement at the rear. Expect the instrument cluster, switchgear, and various features to be shared with the Super Meteor 650.

Powerful Performance: The Shotgun 650 is set to inherit the same 648cc parallel-twin engine found in its 650cc siblings. Royal Enfield may fine-tune this engine slightly to infuse a distinct character into the Shotgun 650. With 47 bhp of power and 52 Nm of torque at its disposal, mated to a 6-speed gearbox, this engine ensures a thrilling ride.

Distinctive Design Elements: Alloy wheels with a potential dual-tone finish, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, retro body panels, and an engine bay finished in black collectively contribute to the Shotgun 650’s vintage charm. The riding posture, although less relaxed than the Super Meteor 650, retains a sporty edge without venturing into the committed territory of the Continental GT 650. This balance promises a neutral and enjoyable riding experience.

Furthermore, the Shotgun 650 flaunts dual exhausts with a sleek black finish, distinguishing it from the chrome-clad Super Meteor 650.

Anticipated Launch: While spy sightings of the Shotgun 650 have become less frequent, the excitement surrounding its launch continues to build. Enthusiasts can expect to see this compelling addition to the Royal Enfield 650cc lineup hit the market in 2024.
