Smart and Sporty: Bajaj’s Pulsar N150-N160 Bring Connectivity to Two-Wheelers

Bajaj Auto has rolled out the much-anticipated 2024 edition of its popular bikes, the Pulsar N150 and N160, marking a significant leap in the realm of connectivity and digital features. With an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 1.18 lakh for the Pulsar N150 and Rs 1.30 lakh for the N160, these bikes are now available at Bajaj dealerships nationwide.

Features:

  1. Digital Instrument Cluster: The updated bikes boast a fully digital instrument cluster in the top variants, seamlessly connecting with the Bajaj Ride Connect application via Bluetooth.
  2. Call Control: Riders can conveniently accept or reject calls using a button on the left-hand switchgear, and the instrument cluster displays the phone’s battery and signal status.
  3. Comprehensive Display: The console provides essential information such as speedometer, odometer, tachometer, gear position indicator, real-time fuel efficiency, and average mileage.
  4. Enhanced Safety: The N150 now features a rear disc brake with single-channel ABS, adding an extra layer of safety to the riding experience.

Specifications:

  1. Pulsar N150: Powered by a 149.68 cc single-cylinder engine, it produces 14.3 hp of maximum power and 13.5 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
  2. Pulsar N160: Equipped with a 165 cc single-cylinder engine delivering a maximum power of 17 HP and a peak torque of 14.3 Nm, also with a 5-speed gearbox.

Brakes and Suspension:

  • Both bikes feature front telescopic forks and rear monoshock absorber suspension for a comfortable riding experience.
  • N150: 240 mm front disc brake with single-channel ABS and 130 mm disc brakes at the rear.
  • N160: Dual-channel ABS, 300 mm front disc brake, and 230 mm disc brakes at the rear.

Market Competition and Mileage: In the Indian market, the Pulsar N150 and N160 will compete with Honda Unicorn, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Hero Extreme 160R 4V, TVS Apache RTR 160, and Suzuki Gixxer. Both bikes are expected to deliver an impressive mileage of around 45-50 kmpl.
