Skoda Launches Limited Edition Kushaq Matte Variant, Adding Style and Exclusivity

Skoda India has introduced a limited edition variant of the Kushaq SUV called the Kushaq Matte edition. Positioned between the Style and Monte Carlo trims, this edition offers a unique and distinctive look for customers. However, the Matte edition is limited to only 500 units.

The Kushaq Matte edition is available with both the 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI engines, as well as manual and automatic gearbox options for each engine variant. As part of the Matte edition package, the exterior of the Kushaq is adorned with a special matte carbon steel paint finish. Gloss black accents can be found on the door handles, wing mirrors, and rear spoiler, adding to its sporty appeal. Notably, the chrome finish for the grille, tailgate garnish, and window lining remains unchanged. This treatment is reminiscent of the recent update given to the Volkswagen Taigun, which shares its platform with the Kushaq.

The equipment list of the Matte edition is based on the top-spec Style trim. It features the larger 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system from the Monte Carlo variant, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, the Matte edition comes equipped with a 6-speaker sound system that includes a sub-woofer, enhancing the audio experience for passengers.

In terms of pricing, the Kushaq Matte edition is priced Rs 40,000 higher than the standard Kushaq Style variant. The prices start at Rs 16.19 lakh for the 1.0 TSI manual variant, Rs 17.79 lakh for the 1.0 TSI automatic variant, Rs 18.19 lakh for the 1.5 TSI manual variant, and Rs 19.39 lakh for the top-spec 1.5 TSI automatic variant.

With the introduction of the Matte edition, Skoda aims to keep the Kushaq line-up fresh and appealing to customers, as there are no major updates planned for the Kushaq and Slavia in the near future. Skoda hopes that this special edition will emulate the success of the Kushaq Monte Carlo variant.

In terms of competition, the Skoda Kushaq Matte edition will compete with SUVs such as the Volkswagen Taigun, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, and the upcoming Honda Elevate. It’s worth noting that some of these competitors also offer special editions to cater to the preferences of customers.

Skoda India recently conducted a study that revealed nine out of ten Indian car buyers now seek models with a good safety rating. This emphasizes the growing importance of safety features in the purchasing decisions of customers in the Indian market.
