Skoda Kushaq and Slavia Style Variants Bounce Back with Impressive 10-Inch Touchscreens

Introduction: Skoda has delivered a technological treat to automotive enthusiasts as it reintroduces its spacious 10-inch ‘Skoda Play’ touchscreen to the popular Kushaq and Slavia models. Initially downsized to an 8-inch unit in May 2022 due to semiconductor shortages, the larger screen is making a comeback, and it’s loaded with features. This upgrade will be particularly delightful for tech-savvy drivers and passengers.

The Return of 10-Inch Touchscreens

The Skoda Kushaq and Slavia are back in the limelight with their larger 10-inch ‘Skoda Play’ touchscreen. This vibrant display was temporarily replaced with an 8-inch version due to semiconductor constraints but has now returned, and it comes as standard on the top-tier Style variants of both models. This means that not only does the screen size increase, but it also brings back the much-loved wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality along with a sub-woofer, as well as the Skoda Play apps.

Cutting-Edge Features with a Catch

While the larger 10-inch screen is a welcome return, it does have its minor drawbacks. Unlike the previous 8-inch unit that featured physical shortcut buttons and a rotary dial for volume control, the 10-inch touchscreen is entirely touch-based. While it’s more modern, the loss of these tactile controls might be a small trade-off for the added screen real estate.

What Models Will Get It?

The good news is that the 10-inch touchscreen will make its way to the Kushaq Monte Carlo and Slavia Matte Edition variants. However, for those opting for the mid-tier Ambition variants, they will continue to have the 8.0-inch screen. In a related update, Skoda has removed the dongle connectivity feature from the Ambition variants of both the Kushaq and Slavia, streamlining the available features.

Subtle Changes in the Lineup

Skoda has subtly refreshed the Kushaq’s aesthetics by introducing new single-tone, silver 17-inch alloy wheels on the top-spec Style trim, which replace the previous dual-tone, twin five-spoke gun metal alloys. The new design mirrors those found on the Volkswagen Tiguan and contributes to the Kushaq’s overall appeal.

Updated Pricing

With these impressive upgrades, Skoda has adjusted the prices of the Slavia and Kushaq models. Prices for the Slavia range between Rs 10.89 lakh and Rs 16.72 lakh for the 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI variants. Meanwhile, the Kushaq now starts at Rs 10.89 lakh and goes up to Rs 18.41 lakh for the 1.0 TSI variants and between Rs 15.17 lakh and Rs 20 lakh for the 1.5 TSI variants, depending on the trim and configuration.
