Ola Unveils 4 Cutting-Edge Electric Motorcycle Concepts: Launch Dates, Features & More

In a major stride towards sustainable mobility, Ola has set its sights on revolutionizing the electric motorcycle landscape. The renowned ride-hailing company recently revealed four new electrifying concepts that promise to redefine the world of biking. These groundbreaking categories, named Diamondhead, Adventure, Roadster, and Cruiser, hold the promise of not only electrifying the roads but also catering to the unique preferences of riders.

Diverse Categories for Discerning Riders

Under the adept leadership of CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, Ola Electric plans to diversify its portfolio under each of these intriguing categories. While these electric motorcycle concepts are still in their prototype phase, the production is set to commence in a phased manner next year, creating ripples of excitement among enthusiasts.

Pre-Booking Commences

Anticipation for these innovative electric motorcycles is growing exponentially, as Ola announced that pre-reservations have officially begun. Prospective buyers can secure their spot in line with a minimal token amount of Rs. 999. The launch of these exceptional bikes is slated for the end of 2024, making the wait all the more enticing.

Introducing the Concepts

  • Diamondhead: Positioned as Ola Electric’s flagship motorcycle, the Diamondhead caters to super sports enthusiasts. With its distinctive diamond-shaped front fascia, concealed LED headlamp pod, and sleek horizontal LED strip, this model truly embodies the essence of super sports biking. CEO Bhavish Aggarwal passionately stated, “It will truly define what super sports biking is across the world. The future of motorcycling will be built in India.”
  • Adventure: Adventure seekers will find their match in the Adventure concept. Crafted to tackle challenging terrains, this bike boasts a LED DRL-adorned front, tall mirrors, and an impressive ground clearance. Equipped with a 19-inch primary wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, it’s tailor-made for off-road escapades.
  • Roadster: For urban commuters, the Roadster presents an ideal choice. Designed with everyday usability in mind, it features an LED headlamp with a distinctive LED strip and a compact windscreen. Flowing design elements, tall clip-ons, and strategically placed turn indicators add to its charm.
  • Cruiser: Embracing the spirit of open road cruising, the Cruiser stands out with its flowing body lines, LED headlamp and DRL, digital instrument console, elongated fuel tank, and LED tail-lamp. Tailored for solo riders, this model offers an approximate range of 200-250 km.

New Electric Scooters Join the Lineup

In addition to the electric motorcycle concepts, Ola Electric also introduced the S1X and S1X+ electric scooters. These models come with an enhanced battery pack for improved efficiency and safety, claiming an impressive range of 150 kilometers. The introductory price for the S1 X is set at Rs 89,999 until August 21, after which it will retail for Rs 99,999.

Driving the Electric Revolution

During a recent event, Bhavish Aggarwal emphasized the remarkable progress of electric two-wheelers in India, highlighting a shift from under 2 percent to around 20 percent penetration in just two years. He underscored the significance of the EV revolution for both the environment and cost-conscious consumers, expressing optimism for India’s potential to become a global hub for EV technology. Aggarwal’s vision extends beyond a mere transportation shift; he sees technology-led disruption as the path to shaping India’s pivotal role in the evolving electric landscape.
