Ola Electric has set the stage ablaze with the launch of the new S1X variant, featuring a robust 4kWh battery pack that promises an impressive range of 190km on a single charge. Priced at Rs 1.10 lakh, the electric scooter comes with an 8-year/80,000 km standard battery warranty, signaling Ola’s commitment to reliability and customer satisfaction.
Originally introduced in August 2023 with 2kWh and 3kWh battery options, the S1X has undergone a transformative upgrade. Bookings are now open, and deliveries are slated to commence in April, showcasing Ola’s dedication to meeting the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions.
The 4kWh S1X variant boasts a 6kW hub-mounted electric motor, delivering a potent 8bhp power. Accelerating from 0-40kmph in just 3.3 seconds and reaching a top speed of 90kmph, the scooter offers an exhilarating performance. With three riding modes – Eco, Normal, and Sports – riders can tailor their experience to suit various preferences and scenarios.
In terms of design and features, the S1X maintains Ola’s signature style with smiley-shaped dual-pod headlights, a flat footboard, and 34 liters of boot space. The scooter’s tech-savvy side is highlighted by a 7-inch TFT touchscreen instrument cluster, LED tail lamps, and a single-piece tubular grab rail.
Ola Electric is not just stopping at the scooter’s launch. The company has ambitious plans to enhance its service infrastructure and charging network across the country. The service centers are set to increase by 50%, reaching a count of 600 by April 2024. Simultaneously, the charging network is expected to grow tenfold, from the existing 1000 stations to 10,000 by June.
Fast-charging capabilities will be a key focus, with Ola introducing chargers that can charge 75% faster than home chargers. A 20-minute charge is projected to provide a range of up to 50km. Customers also have the option to purchase a fast charger for Rs 29,999, offering flexibility for home or office installation.
