MotoGP 2024: Marc Marquez to Join Ducati Lenovo Factory Team in 2025

After weeks of speculation, it is now confirmed that Marc Marquez will race for the Ducati Lenovo Factory Team in 2025. The Spanish rider has signed a two-year contract with the Italian team, extending through the end of 2026. Marquez, an eight-time World Champion, hopes to add more titles to his impressive career tally.

Transition to Ducati

Marc Marquez will replace Enea Bastianini in the Ducati Lenovo Factory Team. This decision follows a season where Marquez demonstrated remarkable performance on a satellite Ducati with Gresini Racing. His ability to quickly adapt to the Ducati Desmosedici GP and deliver strong results did not go unnoticed by Ducati’s management. Marquez’s transition to Ducati signifies a new chapter in his career, offering him the chance to compete at the highest level once again.

Marquez’s Journey

Marquez’s career has been marked by incredible highs and challenging lows. Dominating the MotoGP scene with Repsol Honda, he clinched all his World Championship titles with them. However, a severe crash at Jerez, Spain, led to multiple surgeries and a long recovery process. During his later years with Honda, Marquez struggled with a less competitive bike, which frustrated the champion as he found himself in the midfield rather than fighting for podium finishes.

A Stellar Comeback

In 2024, Marquez joined Gresini Racing, riding a satellite Ducati Desmosedici GP. His impressive performances, including starting from P13 and finishing in podium positions, highlighted his talent and resilience. Luigi Dall’Igna, Ducati Corse team general manager, praised Marquez’s undeniable talent and rapid adaptation to the Ducati MotoGP machine, leading to his selection over Enea Bastianini and Jorge Martin.

Looking Forward

Marquez’s move to the Ducati Lenovo Factory Team is a significant milestone, marking his return to a factory team after a challenging period. This change brings a sense of relief and excitement for Marquez as he prepares for new opportunities and challenges.

The upcoming seasons promise thrilling developments. With Marquez joining the Factory Ducati, Jorge Martin moving to Aprilia Racing, and Pedro Acosta stepping into the Red Bull KTM Factory team, the 2025 season is already shaping up to be an exciting one. Meanwhile, the current championship battle continues to captivate fans, ensuring that MotoGP remains as thrilling as ever.
