Microlino EV: A Game-Changer in Urban Travel Coming to Indian Streets”

In the ever-evolving landscape of urban transportation, a unique player is set to make its mark in India – the Microlino. Developed by Switzerland’s Micro Mobility Systems, this electric vehicle (EV) is capturing attention with its innovative design, blending elements of a motorbike and a car, creating a vehicle that’s not only eye-catching but also environmentally conscious.

The Fusion of Motorcycle and Car Design

The Microlino is a testament to innovative design. Its single front door, reminiscent of the BMW Isetta, opens forward, making it a fascinating mix between a bike and a car. Despite its compact size, it does not skimp on the features commonly found in traditional cars. This design approach makes it an ideal fit for India’s bustling urban roads, where space and efficiency are paramount.

Microlino’s Popularity and Advanced Bookings

The Microlino has garnered over 30,000 advanced bookings, showcasing the growing interest in sustainable and innovative transportation solutions in India. The overwhelming response underlines the anticipation surrounding this compact and efficient electric vehicle.

Specifications and Features

Despite its small stature, the Microlino can comfortably seat two people and offers a 230-liter trunk space. Weighing just 535 kilograms, it can travel up to 235 kilometers on a single charge, making it an ideal choice for short commutes and city travel. Impressively, it can reach speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour.

Economic and Environmental Benefits

The Microlino is poised to contribute significantly to urban mobility in India. Its compact size, combined with electric efficiency, addresses challenges like traffic congestion, pollution, and parking space scarcity in Indian cities. Moreover, its affordability and low operational costs make it an attractive option for a wider demographic, advancing the push towards sustainable urban travel.

Production and Availability

Currently classified as a Class L7e vehicle in Europe, the Microlino is designed like a compact car. Manufactured in Turin, Italy, with 90% of its parts sourced from Europe, Micro Mobility Systems plans to increase its production capacity from 1,500 vehicles annually to about 10,000, indicating the growing demand and potential for expansion.

Pricing and Market Launch

For Swiss customers, the Microlino is priced at around 15,340 dollars (approximately 12 lakh rupees), while in Europe, it starts at 13,400 dollars. The company has announced plans to commence deliveries in Switzerland this summer, followed by a wider rollout across Europe.
