Mercedes-Benz India Embraces EV Inclusivity with Open Charging Network

“Mercedes-Benz Welcomes All EV Users to Its Charging Network”

Mercedes-Benz is taking a significant step in promoting electric vehicle (EV) adoption in India by opening up its EV charging network to all EV users, regardless of the car brand they drive. This move is aimed at fostering cooperation within the EV ecosystem and expanding access to charging infrastructure across the country.

Inclusive Charging Access:

Mercedes-Benz India has made its charging network accessible to both luxury and mass-market EV owners. With a total of 140 chargers strategically placed, the German automaker is embracing a spirit of inclusivity in the EV community.

The Mobile App Advantage:

To facilitate seamless access and enhance the EV charging experience, Mercedes-Benz has collaborated with Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India to create a dedicated mobile app. This app provides users with access to 150 superchargers located across India, eliminating the need for multiple charging apps and memberships. Additionally, the app offers a range of features, including news alerts and customizable wallpapers for in-car screens.

Mercedes-Benz’s EV Offering:

In addition to its commitment to improving charging infrastructure, Mercedes-Benz has introduced the EQE 500 4MATIC SUV in India. This cutting-edge EV comes with a robust 408bhp motor and an impressive torque of 858Nm. It is equipped with an 11kW AC charger, capable of delivering up to 170kW of DC fast charging. With a WLTP-claimed range of 550km, a top speed of 210km/h, and the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in just 4.9 seconds, the EQE 500 4MATIC SUV promises an exhilarating driving experience.

Aesthetics and Aerodynamics:

The luxury vehicle boasts a stylish and sporty design, featuring a sealed-off grille on the front and a full-width light bar. Mercedes-Benz has invested in extensive aerodynamic refinements, including flush door handles, a standard rear roof spoiler, and tire spoilers. The SUV rolls on 20-inch wheels with air suspension, which can raise its height by 24mm.

This move by Mercedes-Benz India to open its charging network underscores the brand’s commitment to supporting the growth of the EV ecosystem in the country, making it easier for all EV users to access convenient and reliable charging solutions.
