Maruti’s Green Drive: Hybrid Swift, Dzire, and eVX to Hit Showrooms

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, is gearing up for a major transformation in its product lineup as it embraces electric and hybrid technology. With an eye on the future of sustainable mobility, the company has some exciting offerings in store, including the Maruti Suzuki eVX, a groundbreaking electric vehicle that’s currently in the development phase.

Maruti Suzuki eVX: Leading the electric charge, the Maruti Suzuki eVX is set to become the company’s first electric product. While an official launch timeline is yet to be announced, it’s expected to hit showrooms sometime during the first or second quarter of 2025. This eagerly awaited 5-seater SUV will feature a dual-motor setup powered by a 60kWh battery pack, delivering an impressive estimated range of up to 550 kilometers on a single charge. Enthusiasts can anticipate a modern infotainment system with a touchscreen interface, complemented by an all-digital instrument cluster.

New Generation Swift and Dzire: Maruti Suzuki is also revamping its tried-and-tested Swift and Dzire models. While the overall silhouette of these popular cars is expected to remain largely unchanged, subtle updates are on the horizon. Look out for refreshed front and rear bumpers, along with modest revisions to the headlamps and taillights. Under the hood, these models are likely to retain the reliable 1.2-liter DualJet petrol engine producing 90PS of power and 113Nm of torque. What’s exciting is the potential inclusion of mild-hybrid technology, aligning these vehicles with the brand’s green vision.

Swift Hybrid and Dzire Hybrid: Building upon the success of the upcoming Swift and Dzire, Maruti Suzuki is also planning hybrid variants. While maintaining the design and interior cues of their conventional counterparts, these hybrid models may receive subtle design differentiations to set them apart. These cars will feature an electric motor paired with a 1.2-liter NA engine and a battery pack, bringing a touch of eco-friendliness to the iconic Swift and Dzire.

Maruti Suzuki’s commitment to greener, more sustainable mobility is evident in its upcoming product lineup. With the eVX leading the electric revolution and the Swift and Dzire embracing hybrid technology, customers can expect a wider range of choices that align with their eco-conscious aspirations. As Maruti Suzuki continues to innovate, the Indian automotive market is poised for a green and electrifying future. Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting developments in the world of automobiles.
