Maruti Suzuki Unveils 2024 Swift: A Fusion of Sportiness, Tech, and Performance

In a bid to reinforce its dominance in the hatchback segment, Maruti Suzuki has officially unveiled the 4th-gen Swift, presenting a sleeker design, enhanced interiors, and a cutting-edge hybrid engine. Despite the increasing popularity of SUVs, the Swift remains a stalwart favorite, and the latest iteration is set to raise the bar in terms of aesthetics, technology, and performance. While the global launch has already taken place, Indian enthusiasts eagerly await its arrival later this year.

Sportier Exteriors:

The 4th-gen Swift maintains its iconic silhouette but receives a modern facelift. The front grille now sports blacked-out elements, accompanied by a chrome strip in select markets. The Suzuki logo finds a new home on the bonnet due to the relocation of the radar module to the top grille section. Notable changes include refreshed headlamps, polygonal fog lamps, and an enhanced bumper. The rear gets a makeover with new C-shaped tail lamps, completing the sportier exterior package.

Interior Updates:

Step inside, and the Swift reveals a refreshed dashboard featuring a dual-tone theme for a premium touch. Textured wrapping adds a visual appeal, complemented by new-shaped AC vents and an updated climate control and center console. The centerpiece is the 9-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system. Premium seat upholstery, multiple USB ports, a center console tray, and connectivity options like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto enhance the overall driving experience.

Performance and Engine Options:

Under the hood, the 4th-gen Swift houses a new 1.2-litre Z Series, 3-cylinder petrol engine, offering both NA petrol and 12V mild-hybrid powertrain choices. Delivering 83 PS of max power and 108 Nm of peak torque, transmission options include 5-speed manual and CVT (for international markets). India will retain the 5MT and 5AMT gearbox options. Weighing 90 kg more, the model focuses on improved aerodynamics, reduced rolling resistance, enhanced comfort, lower noise levels, improved driving dynamics, and additional assistance systems.

Advanced Features and Safety:

While international models may boast heated seats, ADAS, and AWD, the Indian variant promises a robust safety kit, featuring 6 airbags, rear parking sensors, electronic stability program, hill hold assist, and a reverse parking camera.

As the 4th-gen Maruti Swift enters the market, it is poised to redefine hatchback standards with its sporty design, advanced features, and efficient engine options, challenging competitors and setting new benchmarks in the segment.
