As the new year unfolds, car enthusiasts and prospective buyers are met with a less-than-welcome surprise – increased prices across various car models. Mahindra, a prominent player in the automotive market, joins the list of companies adjusting their prices, with the Scorpio-N model seeing not just a price hike but also alterations in its features.
Scorpio-N Z6 Variant: Changes and Impact
The Z6 variant of the Scorpio-N is at the forefront of these adjustments. While the price tag has seen an upward revision, the features in this variant have experienced a reduction. This means customers opting for the Z6 variant will now have to pay more for fewer features.
The current price range for the Mahindra Scorpio-N is between Rs 13.26 lakh and Rs 24.54 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Positioned as a more rugged option compared to competitors like the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Harrier/Safari, and MG Hector/Hector Plus, the Scorpio-N has been a popular choice among the common man looking for an alternative to higher-priced SUVs like the Fortuner.

Feature Changes: What’s Missing?
Prior to the 2024 update, the Z6 variant boasted an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Mahindra’s AdrenoX interface, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, and built-in Alexa for connected car features and voice-enabled requests. However, the recent update has stripped away these features, making the Z6 variant Rs 31,000 costlier.
The mid-spec Scorpio-N previously featured a 7-inch TFT multi-information display for the instrument cluster. Post-update, this display has been replaced by a 4.2-inch monochrome version. The Z6 variant now comes with a 7-inch infotainment unit that supports only wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, lacking connected car technology.
Furthermore, Mahindra used to offer a cooled glove box as a standard feature in the Scorpio-N. However, this has now been restricted to only the top-spec Z8 and Z8L variants.
In a Nutshell:
- Car prices, including Mahindra Scorpio-N, witness a surge at the beginning of the new year.
- Mahindra adjusts the prices of the Scorpio-N model and trims down features in the Z6 variant.
- The Z6 variant loses the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, built-in Alexa, and connected car features.
- Instead, it now sports a 7-inch infotainment unit without connected car technology and a 4.2-inch monochrome display for the instrument cluster.
- The cooled glove box is now exclusively available in the top-spec Z8 and Z8L variants of the Mahindra Scorpio-N.
