Long Waiting Times Lead Toyota to Suspend CNG Variant Bookings for Rumion

In a remarkable turn of events, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has temporarily halted bookings for the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) variants of its popular B-segment MPV, the Rumion. The decision comes in response to an overwhelming surge in demand, resulting in significantly longer waiting times for eager customers. This temporary suspension of CNG variant bookings will be effective from 23rd September 2023 until further notice from the manufacturer. However, there’s still good news for potential buyers as bookings for the petrol variants of the Rumion remain open.

The Toyota Rumion, which boasts a striking design and an array of features, is available in three variants: S, G, and V. Customers can choose from five enticing exterior colors, including Spunky Blue, Cafe White, Enticing Silver, Iconic Grey, and Rustic Brown. Under the hood, the MPV is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that churns out 102bhp and 136.8Nm of torque. This powerplant is mated to either a five-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed torque converter, providing flexibility to the buyers. Notably, the gasoline engine delivers an impressive ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of up to 20.5kmpl.

In an official press release, Toyota Kirloskar Motor stated, “We launched the all-new Toyota Rumion in August this year and have received an overwhelming response from our customers who have been eagerly awaiting a Toyota vehicle in the B-MPV segment. We are delighted to witness the growing interest with numerous inquiries and strong bookings for the all-new Toyota Rumion. The demand has exceeded our expectations, especially for the CNG variant, resulting in extended delivery times. To prevent customer inconvenience due to these prolonged waiting periods, we have decided to temporarily suspend CNG variant bookings. However, we will continue to accept bookings for the petrol variants of the Toyota Rumion.”

This temporary suspension of CNG variant bookings underscores the immense popularity and success of the Toyota Rumion in the Indian market. The company’s commitment to customer satisfaction is evident in its decision to ensure a smooth and timely delivery experience for all customers.

While prospective buyers will have to wait for the CNG variants to open up for bookings again, they can still choose the petrol-powered versions of the Rumion to enjoy the comfort, style, and performance that this B-segment MPV offers.

Toyota’s decision to pause CNG variant bookings is a testament to the Rumion’s soaring popularity. As demand continues to surge, customers eagerly anticipate the opportunity to own this stylish and efficient MPV.
