Lamborghini Trademarks ‘Temerario’ Name, Hinting at Huracan Successor

Italian Supercar Maker Prepares for Next Generation with Hybrid Powertrain

Lamborghini, the iconic Italian supercar manufacturer, has made headlines with its recent trademark filing for the name ‘Temerario’. Speculation is rife that this name could potentially adorn the successor to the renowned Lamborghini Huracan, slated for release in the near future.

The trademark filing, disclosed by the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), showcases the ‘Temerario’ name in Lamborghini’s signature typeface, adorned with distinctive bull horns on the letters ‘T’ and ‘O’. Translating to ‘daredevil’ or ‘fearless’ in English, the name aligns seamlessly with Lamborghini’s tradition of drawing inspiration from the world of Spanish fighting bulls for its product nomenclature.

As the Huracan approaches the culmination of its lifecycle, anticipation mounts for its hybridized replacement. Reports suggest that the Lamborghini Temerario will bid adieu to the naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine of its predecessor, embracing a more potent twin-turbocharged V8 powerplant. Notably, this engine is reportedly developed in-house, marking a departure from the previous shared development costs within the Volkswagen umbrella.

Building upon the foundation laid by its precursor, Lamborghini’s transition towards hybridization is underscored by models like the Revuelto. The forthcoming Huracan successor is expected to integrate the V8 engine with two or three axial-flux electric motors, enhancing both performance and efficiency. Additionally, advancements in all-wheel-drive technology and adaptive systems are anticipated, promising an exhilarating driving experience coupled with cutting-edge technology.

Enthusiasts eagerly await further revelations about the Lamborghini Temerario in the ensuing months, with a global debut anticipated in the coming year. Drawing inspiration from the avant-garde styling of the Revuelto, the new offering is poised to redefine the benchmarks of automotive excellence in the realm of high-performance supercars.
