Reservations for the e-Luna will commence on January 26, with the official launch scheduled for the following month. The e-Luna is expected to meet the demands of both passengers and last-mile delivery, positioning itself as a versatile and multipurpose electric vehicle.

50 Years After Luna’s Debut

The e-Luna’s introduction comes more than 50 years after the launch of the Luna moped. Motwani envisions a bright future for electric vehicles in India, especially e-two-wheelers, stating that the e-Luna is not just for urban areas but for all of Bharat, including smaller towns and Tier II and III cities.

Strategic Investment and Expansion Plans

Kinetic Green plans to invest a total of Rs 100 crore in the brand over the next 24 months, showcasing confidence in the potential of the e-Luna. Motwani emphasized the well-designed nature of the e-Luna, catering to a diverse range of demographics.

The company has witnessed promising traction in both the passenger and last-mile segments during the e-moped pilot stage, deploying around 1,500 vehicles for last-mile delivery. Anticipating a positive response, Kinetic Green aims to sign an MoU for a substantial quantity soon.

Market Anticipation and Production Capacity

For the passenger B2C network, the company foresees a demand for 50,000-70,000 e-Luna vehicles, while the last-mile delivery sector is estimated to require another 20,000-30,000 units. Kinetic Green already boasts 300 two-wheeler stores nationwide, with plans to expand to 1,500 stores over the next three years.

Motwani revealed that a new production line capable of building five lakh e-Luna vehicles annually has been put in place, highlighting the company’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for electric two-wheelers in India.
