Is This the Electric Future for Maruti Suzuki Wagon R? eWX Concept Unveiled with Impressive Range

The Japanese automaker Suzuki has unveiled its latest electric concept, the eWX, at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show, hinting at a potential electric version of the popular Wagon R. Anticipated to make its India debut following the global launch, the eWX boasts a claimed driving range of up to 230km.

The eWX features a distinctive design with a flat, closed grille, complemented by C-shaped LED headlamps and a spacious windshield. The boxy silhouette, while not inherently aerodynamic, captures attention with its unique aesthetic. Inside, the vehicle showcases a modern interior with a floating infotainment screen, a compact center console, a two-spoke steering wheel, and vibrant seat upholstery.

Measuring 3,395mm in length, 1,475mm in width, and 1,620mm in height, the eWX combines compact dimensions with electric efficiency. Although detailed technical specifications are yet to be disclosed, Suzuki claims an impressive driving range of up to 230km on a full charge.

In related developments, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for the launch of its first electric vehicle, the eVX, in India by late 2024. The eVX prototype has been spotted at an EV charging station, and Maruti Suzuki emphasizes its commitment to manufacturing the eVX in India for both domestic and international markets
