Hyundai Motor India Reports Strong Sales Performance in April 2024

Hyundai Motor India, one of the leading automobile manufacturers in the country, has announced its sales figures for April 2024, showcasing robust growth and continued momentum in the market. The company recorded a total of 63,701 units sold during the month, indicating a noteworthy year-over-year increase of 9.5 per cent compared to April of the previous year.

  • Total sales for April 2024 amounted to 63,701 units, comprising 50,201 units sold domestically and 13,500 units exported.
  • Domestic sales witnessed a slight uptick, with a marginal increase of 1.0 per cent compared to April 2023.
  • Year-to-date (YTD) figures for 2024 (January–April) demonstrate sustained growth, with a 7.3 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

Domestic Sales Performance: In the domestic market, Hyundai registered sales of 50,201 units during April 2024. This marks the fourth consecutive month in CY 24 where the company has achieved sales exceeding the 50,000 mark. Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) continued to be the primary growth drivers, contributing 67 per cent of domestic sales. Models such as the Creta, Venue, and Exter played pivotal roles in driving this growth.

Mr. Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor India Ltd, expressed satisfaction with the company’s performance, stating, “Hyundai Motor India achieved its fourth consecutive month of 50,000+ units in domestic sales during CY 24. SUVs remained strong performers, contributing significantly to our overall sales.”

Export Performance: Hyundai’s export segment witnessed remarkable growth, with a surge of 58.8 per cent in April 2024 compared to the previous year. This surge translated into 46,900 units exported during the first four months of 2024, reflecting a robust growth rate of 10.6 per cent compared to the same period in 2023.

Year-to-Date Performance: The cumulative YTD total sales, comprising both domestic and export figures, for January to April 2024 stood at 2,57,418 units. This represents a commendable growth rate of 7.3 per cent compared to the corresponding period in 2023, underscoring Hyundai’s sustained performance and market resilience.
