Honda Issues Recall for GL1800 Gold Wing and CBR1000RR Motorcycles Due to Fuel Tank Concerns

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has initiated a voluntary recall for its GL1800 Gold Wing and CBR1000RR motorcycles to address a potential fuel tank issue. The recall aims to ensure the safety of riders by testing and, if necessary, replacing the fuel tanks affected by incorrectly molded bike pump impellors. This move comes as part of Honda’s commitment to prioritizing customer safety and satisfaction.

Fuel Tank Concerns and Replacement Assurance: The recall focuses on the Honda GL1800 Gold Wing models manufactured between December 2017 and December 2023 and the CBR1000RR bikes produced between September 2017 and April 2020. Customers who own these models are urged to visit Bigwing Topline dealerships across India for comprehensive testing of their motorcycle’s fuel tanks. If deemed necessary, Honda will replace the fuel tanks at no cost to the customers, ensuring a hassle-free solution.

Safety Implications: The identified issue with the bike pump impellors poses a risk of fuel tank failure, which could result in the engine unexpectedly starting or stopping while the motorcycle is in motion. By proactively addressing this concern, Honda aims to prevent potential accidents and ensure the continued safety of riders.

Honda’s Latest Launch – The NX500: Amidst the recall announcement, Honda has introduced its latest model, the NX500. This updated version of the CB500X, now exclusively available through Honda’s Bigwing dealerships, features an array of enhancements and advanced technologies. Deliveries of the NX500 have already commenced, marking a new chapter in Honda’s commitment to innovation and rider satisfaction.

Key Features of Honda NX500:
