Harley-Davidson Nightster 440 Set for India Launch: A Sporty Bobber Design

Harley-Davidson, the iconic American bike maker, recently launched the X440 cruiser in India with a price tag starting from Rs. 2.29 lakhs (ex-showroom). Now, the company is gearing up for its next launch in the country, the Harley-Davidson Nightster 440.

Hero MotoCorp, the Indian partner of Harley-Davidson, has recently registered the trademark for the Nightster 440. The name is inspired by Harley’s international 975cc Nightster motorcycle, hinting at a connection between the two models.

The Nightster 440 is expected to draw design inspiration from its international counterpart, featuring a sporty bobber style. It will sport unique styling elements to set it apart from the X440 cruiser. Enthusiasts can anticipate a low-slung stance, a shortened tail, round bar-end mirrors, and exposed rear shock absorbers, among other design tweaks.

Compared to the X440, the Harley-Davidson Nightster 440 promises a more dynamic and sporty riding experience, catering to riders seeking an adrenaline-fueled journey.

Under the hood, the Nightster 440 will share the same platform and mechanical components as the X440. Equipped with an air-/oil-cooled, 440cc, single-cylinder engine, it boasts a power output of 27 HP at 6000 RPM and torque of 38 Nm at 4000 RPM. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox for smooth gear transitions.

Harley-Davidson is likely to position the Nightster 440 below the X440 in terms of pricing. It is expected to offer an attractive price range, making it a competitive option in the market. It’s worth noting that Royal Enfield is also developing a new Bobber featuring a 350cc engine, which could pose as a rival to Harley’s Nightster 440. Additionally, Triumph is another contender that might enter the fray with its own range of motorcycles.

The Harley-Davidson Nightster 440 is anticipated to garner significant attention, thanks to its sporty bobber styling and the potential for an appealing price point. As the launch date approaches, motorcycle enthusiasts in India eagerly await the introduction of this exciting new model in Harley-Davidson’s lineup.
