In an electrifying move, Mahindra is poised to unveil the updated XUV400 Electric in the Indian market, gearing up to face direct competition from the recently facelifted Tata Nexon. Launched earlier this year, the XUV400 Electric is undergoing a significant interior overhaul to stay ahead in the electric SUV race, responding to Tata Nexon’s enhanced features.
Addressing the dynamic market demands, Mahindra has confirmed substantial interior changes for the upcoming XUV400 Electric. The facelifted model boasts a redesigned dashboard layout, an enlarged touchscreen infotainment system, a revamped central console, and fresh AC vents. Drawing inspiration from the new generation Mahindra XUV300 facelift, the cabin design will also incorporate elements from the acclaimed XUV700.
Packed with an array of features, the Mahindra XUV400 Electric is anticipated to include a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay with wireless Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, electronic voice assist sunroof, and advanced safety features. Speculations abound regarding additional security features, possibly integrating Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology.
The current XUV400 Electric offers two battery options—a 34.5kWh pack with a claimed range of 375 km and a larger 39.4kWh pack with a claimed range of 456 km. Both configurations, combined with the electric motor, deliver 150 bhp and 310 Nm of torque. The expected price for the updated XUV400 Electric is set to surpass the current model’s range, currently priced between Rs 15.99 lakh to Rs 19.39 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. Mahindra plans to roll out this revamped model in the Indian market early next year, with recent test images adding to the mounting anticipation. Competitors include the Tata Nexon facelift, Hyundai Kona Electric, and MG ZS EV.
