Ducati’s Dominance Continues: The Multistrada V4 RS Revealed”

Ducati, renowned for its high-performance motorcycles, has taken the wraps off the most potent addition to its Multistrada line-up—the V4 RS. Unlike its Multistrada siblings, the V4 RS is powered by a 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale engine, a powerhouse derived from the esteemed Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4 models, delivering an impressive 180hp and 118Nm of torque.

More Muscle Than Pikes Peak

Surprisingly, the V4 RS outperforms its sibling, the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak, by packing an extra 10hp. Although the torque slightly lags behind, the sheer power boost is sure to thrill riding enthusiasts. True to Ducati’s racing DNA, the V4 RS features a dry clutch for that iconic rattle, reminiscent of the Panigale V4 R.

Innovative Weight Reduction

Incorporating lightweight materials for agility, Ducati employs a titanium sub-frame, shedding 2.5kg compared to the standard version. Moreover, the V4 RS inherits Marchesini forged aluminum wheels, emphasizing its performance-oriented design. Impressively, Ducati has even opted for a compact battery to further reduce weight, enhancing the bike’s power-to-weight ratio.

Advanced Riding Dynamics

The Multistrada V4 RS boasts an array of riding modes that exemplify Ducati’s commitment to cutting-edge technology. Riders can fine-tune their experience through engine power modes, engine braking control, various riding modes, traction control, wheelie control, hill-hold control, launch control, and a bi-directional quickshifter. With radar-assisted adaptive cruise control and blind-spot detection, this motorcycle represents the pinnacle of modern motorcycling technology.

Suspension and Braking Excellence

The Ohlins electronically adjustable suspension, also seen on the Pikes Peak variant, enhances the V4 RS’s handling. Sharing the same braking hardware, the RS deploys front brake pads akin to the Panigale V4, elevating its stopping power. Pirelli Diablo Rosso 4 Corsa tires ensure a firm grip, cementing the V4 RS’s athletic prowess. The bike also features a lower, flatter handlebar and repositioned foot pegs, accentuating its engaging riding position.

Exclusive and Numbered

While not a limited edition, the Multistrada V4 RS carries a ‘numbered’ edition title, with each bike displaying a numbered plaque on the triple clamp. Scheduled for a global release in January 2024, the V4 RS is expected to hit the Indian market in the near future. Given its remarkable performance enhancements, a premium price tag over the Rs 31.48 lakh (ex-showroom, India) Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is anticipated.
