Countdown Begins: Kia Set to Unveil Refreshed Sonet in India on December 14

Kia enthusiasts and automotive aficionados are gearing up for the much-anticipated debut of the facelifted Kia Sonet in India, scheduled for December 14. The official confirmation from Kia comes after CarWale’s exclusive revelation in April about the December 2023 timeline for the launch.

The Sonet facelift, already teased through leaked images in October, is expected to bring subtle but impactful changes to its exterior design for the Indian market. Anticipated modifications include new front and rear bumpers, LED light bars, redesigned LED headlamps and taillights, and striking dual-tone alloy wheels. Additional offerings may encompass a shark-fin antenna, roof rails, and the coveted electric sunroof.

Inside the cabin, the facelifted Kia Sonet is poised to receive updates such as a new dual-tone interior theme, touch-based controls for the AC functions, built-in sunblinds for second-row occupants, an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite, and a fully digital instrument cluster.

Beneath the hood, the 2024 Sonet facelift is expected to retain its power from the existing 1.2-litre NA petrol engine, 1.5-litre diesel engine, and 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. The forthcoming launch positions the refreshed Sonet to compete fiercely with popular models like the Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.

As excitement builds for the unveiling on December 14, the industry is abuzz with speculation about the pricing details, expected to be revealed early next year, adding an extra layer of anticipation for Kia enthusiasts and potential buyers alike.
