Citroen C3 Aircross vs. Maruti Ertiga: The Battle for 7-Seater Supremacy Begins

Citroen C3 Aircross: A New Challenger to the 7-Seater Segment in India

Citroen, the renowned French car manufacturer, has made a significant entry into the Indian automobile market with the launch of its 7-seater SUV, the C3 Aircross. This move marks a direct challenge to some of India’s best-selling 7-seater cars, including the Maruti Ertiga, which has long held the crown in this segment.

Taking on the Titans

The Citroen C3 Aircross arrives in India ready to compete not only with the Maruti Ertiga but also with other popular vehicles like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Rumion, and the recently unveiled Honda Elevate. It’s a bold move by Citroen to enter a segment where customer expectations for space, comfort, and versatility are high.

Price and Variants

The C3 Aircross boasts an attractive starting ex-showroom price of Rs 9.99 lakh, with the highest variant reaching Rs 12.10 lakh. Citroen offers this SUV in three different trims: U, Plus, and Max. What sets this SUV apart is its flexibility in seating arrangements, available in both 5-seater and 7-seater configurations. In the 7-seater variant, the third-row seats can be removed to adapt to varying passenger and cargo needs.

Power Under the Hood

Under the hood, Citroen has equipped the C3 Aircross with a robust 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine capable of producing 110 bhp of power and 190 Nm of torque. Currently, the SUV is available exclusively with a manual transmission. Citroen emphasizes fuel efficiency with the C3 Aircross, promising a mileage of 18.5 kilometers, making it an economical choice for long drives.

Features and Safety

The C3 Aircross comes packed with an array of features, including a 10.2-inch infotainment system, a 7-inch digital driver display, and wireless connectivity for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Drivers will appreciate the convenience of steering-mounted audio controls and manual air conditioning. In terms of safety, Citroen has ensured that the C3 Aircross is well-equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-hold assist, rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

With the Citroen C3 Aircross entering the fray, the competition in India’s 7-seater car segment is heating up, promising consumers more choices and features to suit their preferences and needs.
