Citroen C3 Aircross: Shifting Gears in the Indian SUV Market with Exciting Upgrades

In the ever-evolving landscape of the Indian SUV market, a silent transformation is taking place, and it seems people are increasingly drawn to the charm of French brand cars. The recent car sales data for February 2024 revealed an interesting shift, with the Hyundai Creta claiming the top spot in the compact SUV segment. However, it’s the Citroen C3 Aircross that has caught the attention despite standing at the ninth position, and the French manufacturer is gearing up for strategic changes to address this disparity.

Powertrain of the Citroen C3 Aircross:

Available in both 5-seater and 7-seater configurations, the Citroen C3 Aircross packs a punch with its 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine borrowed from the C3 hatchback. Generating a formidable 110bhp and a peak torque of 205Nm, the engine is mated to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter gearbox. With a ground clearance of 200mm, this SUV is competitively priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 13.85 lakh.

Features and Interior:

Inside the Citroen C3 Aircross, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system takes center stage, supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The SUV also boasts a 7-inch digital driver display, steering-mounted audio controls, and manual AC. Safety features include dual front airbags, an ABS system, and rear parking sensors.

Upcoming Changes to Boost Sales:

Recognizing the need for improvement, Citroen is planning substantial changes and feature upgrades for its popular C3 and C3 Aircross models. The focus is on addressing concerns related to the limited dealer network and perceived feature gaps that have affected sales performance since the models’ launch.
