BYD Seal Electric Sedan Set to Make Waves in India: Specifications Leak Ahead of Launch

In a much-anticipated move, BYD India is gearing up to introduce its newest electric sedan, the BYD Seal, to the Indian market on March 5, 2024. The launch date has generated substantial excitement among electric vehicle enthusiasts, and to add to the anticipation, technical specifications of the Seal have recently surfaced.

Imported via the Completely Built-Up (CBU) route, the BYD Seal is poised to position itself as a top-tier option in the electric sedan market, positioned above the existing Atto 3 model. According to leaked details, the electric sedan will feature a single variant equipped with an 82.5kWh battery pack. This substantial power source is expected to provide the BYD Seal with an impressive claimed range of 570km, following the WLTP Cycle, making it a strong contender in the electric vehicle space.

Under the hood, the BYD Seal will boast a rear axle-mounted motor, generating a robust 230bhp and 360Nm of peak torque. This powertrain configuration is anticipated to deliver a swift zero to 100kmph sprint time of under six seconds, providing not only efficiency but also an exhilarating driving experience.

Authorized BYD dealerships across India have wasted no time and have already started accepting orders for the Seal sedan, further indicating the heightened interest in the upcoming electric vehicle. Once officially launched, the BYD Seal will claim the title of being the first all-electric sedan in its segment in India, setting a new standard for environmentally conscious automotive options.

As the BYD Seal enters the Indian market, it will face fierce competition from other notable electric vehicles, including the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and the Volvo C40 Recharge. The BYD Seal, with its remarkable range and performance figures, is poised to carve a niche for itself in the rapidly growing electric vehicle segment.
