BMW Reinforces Safety Standards with the Launch of the 7 Series Protection in India

In a move to set new standards in safety and luxury, BMW Group has introduced the latest BMW 7 Series Protection in India. This exclusive vehicle, available with a petrol engine as a completely built-up unit (CBU), is designed to cater to individuals with specific security needs. Let’s delve into the comprehensive details of this extraordinary vehicle.

New BMW 7 Series Protection

According to the company, the BMW 7 Series Protection boasts a high level of protection against ballistic attacks and explosions. It provides customized defense against firearm or explosive attacks, meeting international standards for ballistic and blast resistance with a class VR9 protection rating. The vehicle’s glass shields against high-caliber ammunition, ensuring the utmost safety for its occupants.

Mr. Vikram Pawah, President of BMW Group India, highlighted the vehicle’s unique combination of unrivaled protection, outstanding ride comfort, spaciousness, and advanced features. He noted, “This is a new kind of protection vehicle that meets the highest standards of ballistic protection and individual requirements.”

BMW 7 Series Protection Exterior

The core structure of the BMW 7 Series Protection is based on the Protection Core, a heavily armored inner core surrounding the passenger compartment. This forms a self-supporting protective cell, combined with special doors, underbody armor, and safety glass. The exterior features contour line lighting showcasing the BMW Kidney Iconic Glow and LED headlights for high and low beam.

The vehicle comes with 20-inch light-alloy wheels as standard, equipped with PAX tires featuring a run-flat ring. All-door Emergency Exits, BMW Pennant Holder, and BMW Flashing Lights are available as optional features.

BMW 7 Series Protection Interior

Inside, the BMW 7 Series boasts an innovative BMW Interaction Bar defining the cockpit design. Passengers benefit from electrically operated BMW Sun Protection blinds, a powerful audio system, and an intercom system allowing communication without opening doors or windows.

Optional features include an Executive Lounge with reclining seats, BMW Travel & Comfort package, and a Cooling Box integrated between rear seats. The interior design can be customized to meet individual needs and desires.

BMW 7 Series Protection Performance

The vehicle is powered by a new 4.4-liter eight-cylinder engine with 48V mild hybrid technology, producing 530 hp and 750 Nm of torque. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/hr in 6.6 seconds, the car reaches a top speed of 210 km/hr. The BMW 7 Series Protection features the latest BMW iDrive with “QuickSelect” and BMW Operating System 8.5, offering an advanced display and operating system for a seamless driving experience.

Incorporating BMW Efficient Dynamics, the vehicle includes an 8-speed Steptronic Automatic Transmission, Auto Start-Stop, ECO PRO mode, Brake-Energy Regeneration, Electronic Power Steering, 50:50 Weight Distribution, and Driving Experience Control switch.
