BMW enthusiasts in India can rejoice as the renowned automaker opens bookings for its latest all-electric sedan, the BMW i5 M60 xDrive. This high-performance variant of the i5 series promises an exhilarating driving experience coupled with innovative features.

The i5 M60 xDrive boasts a robust dual electric motor setup, delivering unparalleled power and agility on the road. With a combined output of up to 593 bhp and 820 Nm of torque in Sport mode, this sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in a mere 3.8 seconds, setting new standards for electric vehicle performance.

Designed for efficiency and convenience, the i5 M60 features an 81.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack strategically placed under the car floor. This configuration allows for a WLTP range of up to 516 km, ensuring ample mileage for daily commutes and long journeys alike. Moreover, the vehicle supports 11 kW AC charging, enabling a full charge in approximately 8 hours and 25 minutes, while an optional 22 kW wall box charger reduces this time to just 4 hours and 25 minutes.

Emphasizing its sporty appeal, the M60 variant incorporates distinctive design elements such as a blacked-out ‘kidney grille’ and a dynamic rear diffuser. Inside, drivers are greeted with a sophisticated interior layout reminiscent of the BMW 5 Series, complete with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen powered by the latest iDrive 8.5 operating system.

Safety and comfort are paramount in the i5 M60, offering features like ambient lighting, heated front seats, and auto climate control. Additionally, advanced driver-assistance systems, including BMW Active Driving Assistant and a reverse camera, ensure a secure driving experience in various conditions.

As BMW gears up for the official launch, enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the pricing announcement. Positioned in the premium electric sedan segment, the i5 M60 is expected to compete with rivals like the Mercedes-Benz EQS and the Audi e-Tron GT, setting new benchmarks for luxury electric vehicles in India.
