Ather Rizta Electric Scooter Hits Indian Market, Starting at Rs 1.10 Lakh

Practicality Meets Innovation: Ather Rizta Boasts Traction Control and Ample Storage

After much anticipation, Ather has launched its latest offering, the Ather Rizta, in India, catering to consumers seeking a practical and affordable electric scooter option. With prices ranging from Rs 1.10 lakh to Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom), the Rizta is positioned as a versatile alternative to the sportier 450 range, boasting innovative features like traction control and a generous storage capacity of 56 litres.

The Ather Rizta distinguishes itself from its predecessors with a boxy and rounded design aesthetic, a departure from the angular lines seen in the 450 lineup. Equipped with an LED headlight reminiscent of its rivals and a spacious long seat capable of accommodating two adults comfortably, the Rizta prioritizes rider comfort and functionality.

Under the hood, the Rizta inherits the aluminium frame from the 450X but undergoes significant reworking to enhance stability and maneuverability on the road, particularly in slow-speed situations. Weighing in at 118kg, the Rizta maintains a competitive edge in the practical e-scooter segment, offering optimal performance without compromising agility.

Available in two variants, S and Z, the Rizta offers flexibility in battery capacity, with the Z variant featuring both 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh options. With a claimed range of up to 160km and a top speed of 80kph, the Rizta promises both efficiency and performance to meet varying consumer needs.

In terms of storage, the Rizta impresses with a 34-litre underseat compartment and an additional 22-litre soft ‘frunk,’ totaling a substantial 56 litres of storage space. Ather also offers accessories like the Organiser and multi-purpose charger to enhance convenience for riders.

One of the standout features of the Ather Rizta is its traction control system, a first for electric scooters in India, providing enhanced safety and stability during rides. Coupled with riding modes like Zip and SmartEco, along with features such as reverse gear and hill-hold, the Rizta offers a seamless and intuitive riding experience.

With introductory prices starting at Rs 1.10 lakh, bookings for the Ather Rizta are now open at authorized Ather dealerships, with deliveries set to commence in July. As Ather expands its product portfolio, the Rizta represents a promising addition to India’s electric scooter market, catering to the evolving needs of urban commuters and environmentally conscious consumers.
