All-New Skoda Superb: Unveiling the Future of Elegance and Sustainability

Skoda has unveiled the all-new fourth-generation Superb liftback sedan and estate, offering a glimpse into the future of this executive flagship. The new Superb boasts multiple powertrain options, including diesel and plug-in hybrid variants, tailored to different markets.

An Electrifying Transition: Skoda’s new Superb could be the last all-new internal combustion engine (ICE) car launched in certain markets, as the brand sets its sights on becoming fully electric by 2030. While specific models haven’t been confirmed for electrification, the Superb’s evolution signifies a pivotal step in this direction.

Design Evolution with Modern Solid: The new Superb’s design has evolved subtly yet significantly. The introduction of the Modern Solid design language brings bolder shoulder lines and angular LED headlights, enhancing its visual appeal. A focus on aerodynamics has reduced drag by 10% for the sedan and 15% for the estate.

Dimensions and Storage: While the new Superb is approximately 40mm longer and 10mm taller than its predecessor, it’s 15mm narrower. Surprisingly, these changes have increased luggage capacity, offering 645 litres in the sedan and 690 litres in the estate.

Interior Innovation: Inside, the Superb adopts a trio of ‘smart dial’ controls on the dashboard, providing flexibility for user preferences. Infotainment is anchored by a central touchscreen, available in 10 or 13-inch options. Sustainability is a key theme, with 100% recycled textiles and eco-friendly leather choices.

“Simply Clever” Features: Skoda enhances convenience with new ‘simply clever’ interior features. These include a clip for parking tickets, a rear-view mirror with a built-in USB port, and storage for hi-vis vests in the doors.

Diverse Powertrains: The global engine lineup for the new Superb offers a wide array of choices. From 150hp mild-hybrid to 265hp 2.0-litre petrol options, and even a range-topping plug-in hybrid variant, the Superb aims to cater to diverse preferences.

Indian Arrival: Skoda is preparing to reintroduce the third-gen Superb to the Indian market, but there’s no official word on the fourth-gen Superb’s arrival in India at this time.
