Delayed Disbursement: What Farmers Can Do About the PM Kisan 15th Installment

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi disbursed the 15th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme on November 15, concerns arise as eligible farmers await the promised Rs 2000. The government provides guidance on verification, complaint filing via the PM-KISAN Helpdesk, and the importance of complying with e-KYC norms for a prompt resolution.

The PM-KISAN Initiative: A Quick Overview

The PM-KISAN scheme, a flagship initiative of the government, aims to offer financial assistance to all landholding farmers across the country. Eligible farming families are entitled to receive Rs. 6000 annually, distributed in three equal installments of Rs. 2000 every four months, to support their agricultural and domestic needs.

Reports of Delay: What Farmers Can Do

Despite the recent disbursement, reports reveal that several eligible farmers are yet to receive the promised amount, raising concerns about the distribution process. To address this issue, farmers awaiting the 15th installment are advised to take the following steps:

  1. Use the PM-KISAN Helpdesk: The government has established the PM-KISAN Helpdesk, providing a platform for farmers to lodge complaints regarding the non-receipt of funds. Complaints can be filed during weekdays, and farmers can also use email to communicate their grievances.
  2. Verify Eligibility: Before filing a complaint, farmers are encouraged to verify their eligibility by checking the beneficiary list. The verification process involves visiting the official website pmkisan.gov.in and selecting ‘Beneficiary Status’ under the ‘Farmers Corner.’ Details such as state, district, sub-district, and panchayat, along with the registered Aadhaar or bank account number, should be entered for a status check.
  3. Check e-KYC Compliance: One possible reason for the delay in fund distribution is non-compliance with e-KYC norms. Farmers need to ensure that their eKYC is in order and that their Aadhaar is linked to their operational bank accounts for the successful transfer of the 15th installment.

Government’s Urgent Appeal

While the 15th installment of the PM-Kisan scheme has been released, the government acknowledges that some farmers are still awaiting the credited amount. The PM-KISAN Helpdesk is emphasized for grievance registration, providing helpline numbers and email addresses for support.

Additionally, it is crucial for farmers to confirm their eligibility by checking the beneficiary list and ensuring compliance with e-KYC norms to avoid any further delays in receiving the entitled financial support.
