Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has granted its approval for the implementation of a slope reduction project near Ishrat Baug Society in Undri, bringing good news for residents and commuters in the area.
Parveen Tambe, Founder Member of the NIBM Undri Road Residents’ Forum, shared insights on the recent progress, stating, “After persistent efforts and demonstrations at Bizzbay Mall, we are pleased to announce the official approval of the slope reduction work near Ishrat Baug Society by the PMC. The corporation has assured us that the project will be initiated after the conclusion of the rainy season.”
The slated commencement of the slope reduction work is anticipated within the next few months. In addition to this significant development, various other essential requirements have been highlighted for consideration. These include road widening and the construction of a divider, along with the relocation of utility chambers from footpaths to the roadside and the creation of new footpaths.
The road widening and divider construction project is scheduled to extend up to Everjoy Society. To address the remaining demands, PMC Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakane is scheduled to conduct an on-site survey, allowing for comprehensive planning and execution.
Nanda Lonkar, former Corporator of NIBM Road, shared the recent interaction with PMC Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakane, revealing, “During our meeting with PMC additional commissioner Vikas Dhakane, he confirmed that the road reduction plan has been finalized. The process of floating and finalizing tenders will begin soon. Following the conclusion of the monsoon season, the slope reduction work is set to commence.”
Efforts to reach PMC Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakane for comment were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
