The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has approved the construction of a dog park near the Katraj-Kondhwa road, on the premises of the Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park in Katraj. The park will be developed through a public-private-partnership (PPP) model. The decision was confirmed by Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Binwade.
The construction of a flyover on Katraj-Dehu road bypass, from Wonder City to Rajas housing society, will leave around 3.5 acres of vacant land. The dog park will be established on this land to prevent encroachments.
The park will feature amenities such as a dog pond, a jogging track, and a dispensary. Visitors will be required to pay an entry fee. Dog enthusiasts from Katraj and south Pune will have access to these facilities, according to Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Binwade.
