Pune: In a shocking incident in Pune a married woman took a drastic step of committing suicide after she got fed-up with continuous harassment from her mother-in-law. The mother-in-law suspected the deceased woman’s character. The police have registered a case against the mother-in-law.
The married woman who committed suicide has been identified as Sayli Saurabh Bhagwat (22) a resident of Shukrawar Peth
In this regard, Ravi Anil Ahire ( 39) a resident of Shukrawar Peth has filed a complaint in Khadak Police Station. Accordingly, the police have registered a case against Rajshri Rajendra Bhagwat, a resident of Dattawadi.
According to the police, “The mother-in-law of the complainant’s niece Saili Bhagwat was suspicious of her character. She used to abuse the victim that she is from slum and she could not cook properly, she used to give her mental and physical torture and also forced to live separately from her husband. She was thrown out of the house at 2 am. Fed-up of this harassment she on September 11 attempted suicide by drinking poison. She died while undergoing treatment. Assistant Police Inspector Sonawane is investigating the case.“
