In a significant breakthrough, the Chikhali police apprehended a group of three individuals involved in vehicle theft. The police successfully recovered two stolen autorickshaws and additional stolen construction material, collectively valued at Rs4.3 lakh.
Senior inspector Dnyaneshwar Katkar of the Chikhali police stated that the thieves were apprehended during an all-out operation conducted on Monday night. Assistant inspector Rakesh Gumane led the police team and noticed three men loading something into two autorickshaws at Purnanagar in Chinchwad. Their suspicious behavior prompted the police to question them further. As the individuals provided vague answers, the police team made the decision to arrest them.
The three accused, identified as Digambar Jamdare (19), Pratik Godse (20), and Vaibhav Kapre (19), are residents of Chikhali. They were subsequently taken to the police station for further investigation.
During the interrogation, the accused confessed to the recent theft of the two autorickshaws in Chikhali. They also admitted to stealing construction material from a construction site, with the total value of the stolen goods amounting to Rs4.30 lakh.
